We are excited to announce the launch of V16 of Genius ERP, released in May 2024. This latest version introduces upgraded features designed to enhance your manufacturing operations.
With V16, all the tools your shop employees need are now available entirely on Genius Web. Tablet-ready modules, including shipping, receiving, timesheet management, inventory forecast, and shop floor, connect your shop team better and faster than ever. Soon, Physical Inventory will also be available on Genius Web. The entire module has been redesigned to be more efficient and user-friendly.
Other noteworthy additions include updates to Genius CRM, Power Automate integration for quotes, the ability to pre-assign equipment serial numbers or VINs, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for improved security. Additionally, we’ve implemented advanced security measures for sensitive fields, workflow actions, and time entry management.
We’re excited to roll out further enhancements by the end of June, such as email-to-opportunity linking in Genius CRM. Stay tuned for more improvements in inventory management, the product configurator tool, timesheet functionalities, and a new HubSpot integration. They all set to arrive later in 2024.
Integrated Credit Card Processing Now Available – September 2023
With the upcoming release of V15.2, Genius ERP is introducing credit card processing. We’ve partnered with Global Payments, one of the world’s largest payment technology providers, to offer you increased flexibility for your business and enhanced convenience for your customers. This means you can receive payments faster, manage payments more easily, and boost your cash flow.
Some of the tasks you will be able to complete with our new credit card processing feature include:
- Prepayments for in-progress sales orders
- Apply a credit card prepayment to a sales order
- Take a deposit and apply it later to a sales order or invoice
- Accept a credit card payment for one or more sales invoices
- Issue a refund
Stay Ahead of the Competition With Integrated Credit Card Processing
Staying ahead of the competition requires efficient operations, streamlined financial processes and excellent customer service. One tool that can help you achieve these goals is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with integrated credit card processing.
Integrating credit card processing with an ERP offers several advantages:
- Streamlined Financial Operations: Automate payment collection and reconciliation to simplify financial processes. Reduce manual data entry and the risk of errors to make financial operations more efficient.
- Enhanced Customer Experience: Customers benefit from the convenience of making payments with credit cards, improving their overall experience with your business — leading to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Faster Payments: Credit card processing accelerates payment receipt, reducing the time between a sale or service delivery and when funds become available. This can improve cash flow and liquidity for your business.
- Reduced Administrative Costs: Credit card payments reduce the need for manual payment handling, saving time and labor costs associated with administrative tasks.
- Improved Accuracy: Reduce the likelihood of errors in payment processing and data entry, leading to more accurate financial records and reporting.
Introducing V15 of Genius ERP – May 2023
Introducing V15 of Genius ERP, featuring advanced tools to boost the efficiency of your sales team, shipping and receiving department, and finance team.
Sales Team Updates
Sales representatives are often on the road and need to access Genius ERP from anywhere, so we decided to make their lives easier by adding customer creation from the web, as well as sales order creation, on top of the already existing quote module. It’s now possible to create a sales order for standard or configured products for established customers or new ones.
- Customer Creation
The client creation process has been accelerated and streamlined so that you can create a customer faster, with less manual entry. Sales representatives don’t always have all the client information, but that shouldn’t stop them from making a quote, especially if they are in front of the client.
- Sales Order
In addition to creating sales orders on the web, V15 also makes it easier to manage after-sales services. For example, when a repair part is sold to a customer, you will be able to see if that part is already in stock and available, or if it needs to be ordered/manufactured. It will then be easier to know what the delivery date should be. You’ll also be able to quickly verify if there is any warranty information related to the parts in your sale order. These improvements will allow you not only to create sales orders faster but also to have better visibility of the client’s information.
Receiving Team Updates
Your shipping and receiving team will now be able to receive purchased products using a web browser. This addition to our web platform will let you receive material wherever you are in the warehouse on a tablet. That mobility will save a lot of unnecessary movement and time. Ultimately, you’ll get more real-time inventory information into the system, which will benefit not only receiving but also production, scheduling, purchasing, and invoicing.
Financial Team Updates
- Cashflow
Our Accounting team has created an interactive dashboard inside Genius Analytics to show you a complete picture of your cashflow situation. In addition to giving you an accurate and up-to-date look at your financial health, you will also get a powerful forecasting tool to manage projected cashflow based on outstanding sales orders and work in progress.
- Credit Card Processing
One of our biggest improvements, coming this fall with V15.2, is the addition of credit card processing inside Genius ERP. We’ve partnered with one of the largest payment technology providers in the world to give you more flexibility for your business and more flexibility for your customers. You can get paid faster, manage payments easier, and increase your cashflow.
Smart Scheduling Gets Even Better: Introducing What If Scheduling – August 2020
Last year, Genius ERP introduced a revolutionary new way to schedule your shop floor: Smart Scheduling. And now we’re excited to announce that Smart Scheduling is getting even better — introducing What If Scheduling
Refresh — What is Smart Scheduling?
Smart Scheduling is the first true DBR (Drum-Buffer-Rope) scheduling tool for custom manufacturers built into an ERP system.
Smart Scheduling is based on the Theory of Constraints (ToC). It uses the fundamental principle that within any custom manufacturing plant, there is a Drum — one, or a small number of, scarce resources — that controls the overall output of the plant.
What does Genius ERP’s smart scheduling too do?
Genius ERP’s Smart Scheduling tool streamlines shop floor scheduling by identifying the bottleneck, or Drum, and then automatically prepares a detailed schedule that maximizes the capacity of the Drum to increase the overall efficiency of the plant.
The Drum is typically your shop’s most heavily loaded resource or work center. Once your Drum is identified, a DBR scheduling tool automatically prepares a detailed schedule accounting for it, and each job and task on a project is prioritized and scheduled.
A DBR schedule squeezes the highest possible level of performance from the Drum and thus is the most effective and efficient schedule for the shop as a whole.
To ensure that you won’t get behind on your schedule and that your production won’t be disrupted, a Buffer is put in place to guard against delays and problems. The Buffer is a period of time designed to protect the Drum resource from issues upstream from the Drum operation. This means that the Drum will never be starved for work and that jobs will pass through to the Drum at the correct pace.
Finally, ropes, or mechanisms that allow jobs to flow seamlessly through the shop, are identified to ensure smooth production. While the Drum sets the master schedule and the Buffer provides protection, the Rope communicates and controls the actions necessary to support the production system.
What this means is that instead of using complicated algorithms that don’t work in custom shop environments, Smart Scheduling creates the most efficient schedule for your shop based on how your shop actually functions. No more scrambling and feeling like you are trying to play keep up: Instead, a DBR scheduling system creates an accurate, reliable, prioritized, and easy-to-follow schedule.
Smart Scheduling gives you a more efficient and effective schedule. Therefore, it lets deliver more jobs on time and increase your throughput.
Introducing What If Scheduling
We are excited to announce that we have added a new feature to our Smart Scheduling system: What If Scheduling.
What If Scheduling allows you to easily deal with changes and shifting priorities — whether from a customer request, a new order, or a late delivery from a 3rd-party vendor. Before you change your schedule and disrupt all the current jobs you have in progress on your shop floor, What If Scheduling runs simulations for you so you can see the impact of a change before you make it.
You can test by adding or moving jobs without impacting your shop environment until you find the best schedule. That is the one that balances all of your priorities and ensures on-time delivery.
